Cyberpunk 2077 is getting delayed! Announced earlier today via the CDPD Twitter account, a statement was made declaring the delay of the game and it’s new scheduled release date for all platforms.
Originally set to release on April 16th of this year, game developer CD Project Red announced the game will be pushed back to September 17th. CD Project Red attributed the game’s delay to it’s massive scale, stating, “due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish play testing, fixing, and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postpowning launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.” The full statement can be read below or on the CDPR Twitter Account.
As many notice, the 5 month delay now places Cyberpunk just 12 days after the release of Square Enix’s Avengers game, which earlier this week also got a 4 month delay into September. If March and April were shaping up to be big months in games, September is now looking pretty huge as well. We at My Xbox And Me look forward to Cyberpunk 2077’s eventual release later this year.
