Dragon Quest XI S coming to Xbox Series X

The Square Enix RPG Classic Series Dragon Quest is coming to Xbox for the first time with one of their more recent releases. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition S, which is an enhanced port of the original PS4 release made for the switch will be ported and brought over to the Xbox Series X later this year, specifically in December.

The game features enhanced graphics and a steadier frame-rate. All the enhancements that are found in the switch port of the game will be showcased in the game on Xbox Series X and amplified. Dragon Quest XI was the first in the series to include English Dialogue options as the game historically was either text only with no dialogue or Japanese Audio. Dragon Quest XI also features a first person camera option for scenes and battles as an option, which is another first for the series.

The game also supports a legacy mode, which allows you to swap between the beautiful 3D to an also beautiful top down 2D pixel art style throughout the game. From character models, to building and landscapes, everything gets a beautiful 2D pixel render that can be swapped to at any point in the game.

The game is set to release on Xbox Series X this December. With Xbox's focus on bringing in more support for Japanese Studios, we can hope to see even more from Square Enix this upcoming console generation. For more firsts like Dragon Quest XI, be sure to check out My Xbox and Me.
