Resident Evil Showcase Updates

Today Capcom held it's Resident Evil Village showcase, which featured brand new information on the upcoming game. Resident Evil is the 10th mainline installment to Capcom's survival horror franchise, and direct sequel to the previous game, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Players will return as the role of Ethan Winters from the previous game, in a brand new setting and story. The game will launch on May 7th 2021

Additionally, the game will be launching on all current generation platforms as well as next generation platforms. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be able to upgrade their digital copy of the game to their respective next generation counterpart for free. Pre-orders start today, and there will be multiple different editions for the game including Standard, Digital, Deluxe, and Collector's. Pre-order bonuses are included in all editions of the game, as well as a Resident Evil Village & 7 Complete Bundle which includes Resident Evil 7. All of these can be seen below.

Resident Evil Village will also have a playable demo exclusive to PlayStation systems titled Maiden, however it was announced today that another demo will launch sometime this spring that will be available to all platforms. There is no word on the size or scope of this second demo, or exact time frame, but it will launch before the launch of Resident Evil Village.

To continue the Resident Evil news, Capcom announced a brand new multi-player title, named "Resident Evil Re:Verse". This team based game features characters from throughout the Resident Evil franchise playing various multi-player game modes. Resident Evil: Re:Verse will be included free with the purchase of Resident Evil Village, similar to how Resident Evil 3 Remake included the separate Resistance game mode.

Closing out the show, Capcom announced a partnership with Ubisoft to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil. Players who log into the Division 2 starting on February 2nd and going on until the launch of Resident Evil Village can receive free in-game cosmetic weapons and gear.

Resident Evil Village will launch on all systems on May 7th, but for more on Resident Evil, be sure to check back to My Xbox And Me.
