UPDATE: WB Montréal has confirmed to Kotaku that the game is not set within the same Arkham universe as the RockSteady games and will be it's own separate universe.
After 2 years of teasing, WB Montréal has finally revealed their next game, titled, "Gotham Knights". The game is set in the same Batman universe as the RockSteady games and will take place after the events of Arkham Knight. The Batman is dead, and it is now up to the family to protect Gotham.
Players will take on the role of Robin (Tim Drake), Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Red Hood (Jason Todd), and Batgirl (Barbara Gordan), as they go through the city taking down the rogue gallery of villains, however all isn't as it may seem. As rumored for years, it is not confirmed that the Court of Owls will be featured in the game, most likely as the main antagonist of the game.
Gotham Knights will feature 2 Player Online Co-Op, but can be played entirely solo should you choose. Couch Co-Op, however, is not available. The game will also feature customizable characters, allowing players to tweak the bat family to various ways from abilities, to outfits, and more. No details on how exactly this will play out, but from the 7 minute gameplay demo we did receive, there seems to be RPG elements baked into the game such as EXP and leveling systems. Gotham Knights will release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, as well as other platforms sometime in 2021. For more information on the game as it becomes available, be sure to check out My Xbox And Me. Be sure to watch the announcement trailer below, and tweet us your thoughts on the game as well.
