Xbox Game Cases Revealed

We may have gotten the first look at official game case box art for Xbox Series X moving forward, though it’s a little more complicated than that.

Imaged above is the box art for Watch Dogs Legion, the third installment to Ubisoft’s Watch Dog Property. The game is set to release on October 29th 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The game case for Xbox platforms is interesting in that the top banner simply says “Xbox” and underneath it is a second banner displaying Xbox One and Xbox Series X, followed information such as 4K Support, HDR, and Xbox Smart Delivery.

Watch Dogs Legion is one of the confirmed games to support Smart Delivery, so all the information on the box is correct and would accurately describe the product to consumers in a smart easy to understand way.

On the opposite side is what games may look like if they do not support Smart Delivery and instead have their own dedicated Xbox Series X version, as such in the above image of NBA2K20’s cover art which promptly displays Xbox Series X.

Microsoft’s approach to cross generation support received speculation from the industry as a whole on how games were going to be marketed, however what’s come to light so far seems to be concise and easy enough to understand. We’ll have to wait until games are out in the wild to see if Microsoft’s approach to marketing these games is understood by the greater audience.
